Kartboy's short shifter for the 2015-2021 WRX was designed to be compatible with ALL stock and aftermarket shifter bearings, levers, and stops, and was carefully engineered for the best "feel." Fancy computer stress analysis (see photos) was used to arrive at a final design that works perfectly, and is incredibly strong. Shifter throw is reduced by 38%.

The stock shifter mechanism uses a large, fairly heavy counterweighted part. Shifters that completely eliminate the counterweights feel very notchy and lose smoothness. The Kartboy shifter has a built-in weight -- not too heavy, but not too light -- and a balance that gives a smoother shift motion while still reducing throw.

The shifter is constructed of 4130 chromoly steel -- that's tough material! It's built to super-tight tolerances to ensure a perfect fit the first time, and a lifetime of clean, smooth shifting.

The shifter includes Kartboy's upgraded shifter bushing, which further improves shift feel by adding a ball bearing to almost completely eliminate "stiction" in the shifter mechanism. You also get some hardware to make a little bearing press to get the old bearing out and the new bearing in. Finally, the kit is completed by the addition of Kartboy's shifter lock, which limits neutral-position left-right slop.

Fits all 2015+ WRX with six-speed manual transmission, including 2022+. Also fits 2010-2014 Legacy/Outback six-speed manual. Compatible with all aftermarket bushings and shifter shafts.
